  1. Last night was my first time attending a Reading at the Public Theater. I didn't know what to expect or if I would be captivated by the cast since there wasn't going to be any stage designs, costumes, music, etc.

My thoughts on the show... it was excellent! I thought the cast were great actors and the story really caught my attention.

I would like to give kudos to the writer of the play, job well done!

I will defintely come back to see another performance.

  2. I enjoyed the reading, though I did not appreciate all the blasphemy. I don't see what is so wrong with loving Jesus. Other than that, the reading was excellent. Great actors and interesting plot.

  3. Especially realistic in the writing is the way little twistings of secrets take time to come out, and though some members of the family are excessively vocal, others are threatened by dysfunctionalism's themes and simply want to ignore or "bury" them for as long as possible, even forever.

Enormous admiration for the writing, the directing, and the performances!

  4. Maureen was too much of an excess character for me. While it was very well acted, the character herself didn't add much to the plot, and if she only appeared in 2 scenes I don't think she's necessary in the play. She had the potential to be used as a comparison to this crazy family, or to comfort Christopher. Instead she f*cks him and leaves, mysteriously and that storyline ends too abruptly. I personally found her to be very interesting and was disappointed when I realized she wasn't come back after that scene.
